While it is a fact that CNN has been delivering some incredible journalistic content over the last few years, it is impossible to consider the famous liberal network a credible source of news. After all, CNN has been showing a blatant left-wing and pro-Democrat bias for years, showing double standards when it comes to judging political leaders from the two sides of the political spectrum.

Another reason why CNN is not trustworthy is because the vast majority of their hosts and even anchors are openly Democrats, liberals, or progressives. The situation has gotten so much out of control that CNN has been accused by many of playing a decisive role in some Democratic Party’s primary races by deliberately attacking a certain presidential candidate and praising another one. WikiLeaks documents revealed that exact thing happened during the 2016 DNC primaries, with the network sabotaging the campaign of then-candidate Bernie Sanders and boosting the one of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

This whole controversy shows another problem that explains why CNN isn’t trustworthy: many of the network’s shows end up being an echo chamber where the hosts and anchors end up repeating the Democratic Party’s narratives when it comes to national news. Finally, the network has been dealing with many scandals of misinformation and fake news that they had to correct, especially during the administration of former President Donald Trump.

CNN is one of the most important TV networks in the United States, and it occasionally shows great journalistic quality. However, it isn’t unbiased and therefore can’t be trusted.

Mark (Yes)

CNN's trustworthiness is one of the primary reasons it has been the leading television news source for decades. A prime example would be how the cable news outlet recently ran an article that addressed Americans' growing distrust of the media. They actually cited themselves in the article as one of the outlets suspected of being less than factual in certain instances. CNN could have glossed over this detail, but instead, they reported the truth. Therefore, you can trust CNN to report the facts, even if it doesn’t necessarily cast them in a positive light.

Ironically enough, CNN has strengthened its reputation by identifying and exposing fake news sources, particularly those on social media. During the height of the pandemic, CNN was highly effective in exposing false reports and statistics. The site known as Biasly is well-known for evaluating and documenting the various news networks, and the public's perception of such. CNN has consistently placed in the top percentile of approval ratings. They've also made the tough decision to fire employees when it comes down to protecting their integrity.

CNN’s reach and reputation extend beyond North American borders as well. A recent survey conducted in the United Kingdom showed that CNN had a higher approval rating than the country’s own BBC. CNN's longevity and reliability have gone a long way in cementing its reputation for sincerity, affability, and trust. Unlike other news networks, such as Fox, CNN prioritizes diplomacy and impartiality, even during the most turbulent times in society. It’s news you can trust.
